Deepfakes, Disinformation, and AI Content Are Taking Over the Internet

As generative AI is added to every imaginable product, millions of people are using it to produce dramatically more output than ever before. Cybercriminals and fraudsters are not only no exception to this, but they are perhaps even greater users of gen AI, since hallucinations and errors are not an issue for them. They can, and are, using AI to flood the web, and every one of our communication channels, with sophisticated fake content which are fooling users, wasting their time, and actively harming them every day. This talk will explore how fake content, fraud, and social engineering have evolved over the years, how gen AI is making the problem go exponential, and what the technology industry and society can do about it.
